This public program provides financial reimbursement (for caregiving supplies, support services, and home adaptations), resources, and caregiving counseling. This program is paid for by state and federal dollars for those who qualify.

Assisting You in Your Essential and Valuable Role as Caregiver
For someone who is homebound, one of the most important members of their care team is the special individual who serves as caregiver. It’s you.
SCS respects your extraordinary role. As caregiver, you tend to the many needs of your aging loved one. But in doing so, you may forget to take care of yourself. This program can reduce the financial and emotional stress that is all too familiar to those caring for a dependent relative.
Through the program’s free, compassionate counseling, you can find positive ways to work with the challenges of ensuring that your loved one is well cared for at home. The Program helps to link you with other resources also available in your community.

SCS created the Caregiver Academy ten years ago, and it was the first program of its kind in the country to provide caregivers with resources to improve their skills and bolster their confidence in caregiving. By providing onsite respite care for care receivers, the Caregiver Academy provides caregivers with peace of mind that makes it possible for them to get the greatest possible benefit from the knowledgeable speakers and content experts.
