Fulfilling Volunteer Opportunities
Lend a hand. Take the lead. Step up. Pitch in. No matter what you call it, volunteering is good for the community – and good for you.
SCS recognizes that you have the skills, experience and motivation that can be put to good use right now—whether you coordinate a fund-raising event, deliver a meal to a homebound neighbor or conduct a history course for adult learners. SCS promises to use your time productively.
SCS volunteers come in all ages and from throughout our community. Some volunteers work in special teams. For example, individuals and their trained pets provide pet therapy visits to frail elderly in their homes through SCS’ PAWS program.
You can choose just how much time you would like to dedicate—opportunities are available to accommodate your other commitments. While SCS knows that you give freely of your time to help others, SCS does reimburse home-delivered meal drivers for mileage. The Volunteer Program also provides necessary training and an annual volunteer recognition luncheon. As an added benefit, research reveals that community service positively impacts your health.
Volunteer. You will change a person’s life, especially your own.
