Senior Community Services
Ways to Give

Donate

Make a tax-deductible gift to Senior Community Services (SCS) and help 9,000+ older adults. Unrestricted gifts help provide support for general operations at our four senior centers and our numerous community programs. Restricted gifts can help provide meals, transportation to the Center, programs and activities, heat-related services, financial management services, volunteer programs, and much more. Capital gifts support building needs and equipment purchases. Acknowledgment of your donation can be tailored to fit your needs.

Special Event and Program Sponsorships

SCS sponsors many special events throughout the year that need support. Partnership opportunities reach a large public audience, while serving hundreds of seniors in need. Select an event or program that matches your employees' personal interests or company's business objectives such as our Annual Volunteer Recognition Event, Celebrations, Holiday parties, Meal Program, etc.

Volunteer

Volunteers enrich the lives of older adults by serving in a range of roles at sites throughout Delaware County. Some examples include serving meals, leading book clubs, delivering nutritous meals, visiting isolated elders, counseling individuals about health insurance benefits, managing and updating the SCS website and much more.

Organize a Fundraising Drive

Gather your co-workers, colleagues, friends, family, classmates or fellow parishioners and organize a drive to benefit older adults in your community. Come up with a team name, work towards a goal, and if applicable, tell us a story about a person that inspired your team. Some ideas of drives for SCS include:

  • Holiday Gifts for the Homebound

Each holiday, SCS collects items for our seniors who are home-bound. We seek corporate partners who can help us collect items on our "wish list" for these seniors. A list will be provided, and your company can break down the items by office. Gifts are then delivered to the home by Care Management staff.

  • Jeans Day

Let your employees wear jeans to work, or dress down on Fridays during a set month. Collect a small donation of $1, $3 or $5 from everyone who participates and donate the proceeds to SCS. SCS will list the name of your company in our newsletter, SCS Connection.
